Is debris netting too shady?
« on: March 07, 2018, 08:56 »
Hi all. Ive got a few small cloches made from enviromesh which work wonders and I was wanting to build a proper big brassica cage now to house even more and make it easier to weed etc.  but too cover with enviromesh would be sooooo expensive.

So i was thinking of debris netting, however ive heard a few folk say it can cause plants to get leggy as it rather shading by nature.

Anyone have experience if this at all? Any help would be great

Thanks

I always grow mine under debris netting and have never had any problem. I think it's quite the reverse when it comes to temperature in that the netting provides shade when there's full sun.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

And another that uses a lot of it as I get free of a scaffolder mate of mine  ;) Never a problem with it. We also have a lot of brassica tunnels appear on site now that all use it.

Agree with all the other posters  :D

We do have to be careful on our site as is superwindy, and debris netting does get hit hard sometimes, so needs very stout supports
