... for use at the allotment?

I'm doing the usual - saving yogurt pots, and fruit containers to sow seeds in and coke bottles for mini propergators.   :)

Hubby moans everytime he tries to throw something out and I yell out 'leave it - I'm saving that for the lottie!!!'

I just wondered what sort of things everyone else reuses on their plots?
Snappy

No amount of time can erase the memory of a good cat, and no amount of masking tape can ever totally remove his fur from your couch.

I could give up chocolate but I'm not a quitter.

Hi,

Another idea for the coke bottles is drill a hole n the bottom, cut some flaps (about 4 or 5) longways in the side and bend them out at 90 deg, put them on a small cane. Because they spin in the breeze they scare the birds brilliantly. Got the idea from a book called 'Diggers Diary'

Oh I don't know - I'm sure the Shania Twain CD's would sound much better tinkling in the breeze!

I save the plastic trays that meat tends to come in from the supermarket to use as seed trays

I save an enormous amount of milk bottles which I use as mini propagators (cut off the bottom, the top and through the handle, stick a cane through the handle to stop it blustering about).   To store them i thread them through a long piece of string.

People must think I'm completely barking.  But funnily enough, I feel perfectly safe safe to confess my peculiarities on here.

Never mind saving stuff, I raid people's recycling boxes for plastic & glass bottles, goodness knows what my neighbours think of me!

A man came to the front door today and offered to take some old naily wood out of the front garden.  I can't believe I let him take it.  However I wouldn't let him take the bit of guttering that we really don't need... - far too useful.

If we get a lot of rain during the summer, I've got about 60 odd large plastic milk bottles that I fill from the overflowing water butts which gives me more room for a drop more water!  I store them in the greenhouse under the staging till needed in times of drought!

I have literally thousands of 5 litre ice cream tubs if anyone would like some.  Courier would be the only viable means to send them and you'd have to pay for that.  £10/12 would ship a heckuva lot though - enough to share.  Great for seedlings and large enough to finish quite a few types of crops.

PM me if you are interested.
