No, lime isn't relevant to carrots.

They do best in a well-drained soil, and avoid putting manure or similar on the ground in the months before planting.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

I've seen one or two exhibition growers mention that they add calcified seaweed to their growing mix.

 HI all, have tried for some years to grow carrots with varying degrees of success (not much) ,in containers and in the ground.Can anyone give me some guidelines please, I love carrots raw and cooked.Cheers :D

I must admit I break a few rules,I am told.
I dig the plot an lightly raise and rake the area .I then gently water the plot then lay a cane over the first row to be sowed,pressing the cane in to make a straight crease.
Sow the seeds and gently cover with the soil.
When the seedlings show I do not thin them to avoid carat fly.i use a seed that has become more available (Eskimo)
Had 9 good years out of the 10. No idea what went wrong with the failure year..
Most of the carrots are reasonable straight and some are amusing.
Depending on temp aim to so April 1st
