I was passing the local farm-supplies outlet so popped in to buy the usual 25kg sack of Growmore. £19.20 up from £17 last year! 13% increase. Can it be the Brexit effect?

I don't know, but some people use any excuse for charging more.
Googling shows some suppliers at the old price and some a few pounds up - so best to shop around as ever!

£16 plus VAT = £19.20 for 25kg seems to be standard up here. No doubt there are massive discounts for farm quantities but not for Alan buying just one sack

Things have been on the upwards creep for the allotment association this last year.

We have just had a fertiliser delivery and the 6x chicken pellets have gone up from £9 to £9.50 for 25kgs, because of the £ falling against the euro after Brexit. This product is made in Holland.
It's still a good price as other places charge around £8 for a 10kg tub.

 Most nitrogenous fertilizers are made from crude oil, our friends in OPEC decided that the rest of the world were not paying enough, so curtailed output somewhat, so it now costs more for the raw materials!

Naturally the manufacturers have increased their prices to compensate, and we pay!
