Thank you for this information. I have not been able to grow onions on my lottie since day one of take-over. White-Rot!!!! Hopefully Golden Bear F1 onion seeds are a saviour for me. Thanks.

Hmm I think I've got golden bear seeds, need to sort the seed tubs & get sowing

I'll have to try these. Last year, for the first time, I seem to have found the only area of the plot that was entirely white rot free, but then all of the onions were infected with downy mildew.   I still had a crop, but they don't seem to storing as well as they should, so I'll send for some of these because it says they are also mildew resistant.

A few (growing in number) plots on my site suffer from white rot and the plot holders swear by them. They're not totally immune but they reckon 90%+ survive unscathed as opposed to 0% of other varieties.

I have since contacted my seed supplier Wallis Seeds. Who have now added Golden Bear F1 onion seeds to their available listing.

Growing them for the first time this year not for the white rot resistance but the fact they get a good review on the other desirable aspects.
