slug defence

A fortnight ago I bought a campanula and put it in the garden. I put down slug pellets, but 2 days later there was nothing left of it.

I bought a few bedding plants on Monday and decided to put the slug pellets down 24 hours before planting them. Next day I cleared up 30 slugs and snails.

I put the plants in on Tuesday and so far none have been eaten at all.

That's the way to do it!

I must say that this has never occurred to me, but it makes perfect sense!
