Hi all,  do you remove the male flowers from F1 courgette plants, the variety is F1 Patriot

Hi, welcome to the forums.

You don't need to remove any male flowers.  Cut the fruits when they are about 6" long.

Courgettes won't grow properly unless they're fertilised. Keep the male flowers.

There are a few varieties that do not require pollination, and I tend to grow one every year to make sure of an early crop while the normal ones are still producing all male flowers.

Parthenocarpic (needing no pollination) varieties are Parthenon and Cavili

I discovered Sure Thing this year too.. excellent for an early crop under cover as well as outside

Long dark green fruits that grow almost as you watch them.. tasty too!

The only time I remove the male flowers is if I want to cook stuffed courgette flowers, or use them raw in salads for example.
