my new pallet greenhouse
« on: April 16, 2016, 23:09 »
I have finally finished my pallet greenhouse (bar a few finishing touches inside) and I wanted to show it off as I'm very proud of it, having never designed or built anything bigger than a planter before.

What do you think guys?

and here is the inside - chicken wire has been installed in one corner for climbing cucumbers, bargain at £1 for a roll at poundland.

I aim to plant in pots for toms/peppers and use growbags for the cucumbers as I don't want the wooden frame to rot too quickly bearing in mind it's only pallet wood!

Are you leaving the top of the ends open for ventilation sweetpea, or have you got something else planned ?

I'm leaving them open for the hot months and then will close them up towards autumn. I have some kind of ideas about removable panes but unsure exactly how to fit them so they dont rip out with the wind. At the moment I have all my seedlings in mini greenhouses and pots at home so they are all protected but as of next year I plan on starting everything off on the plot. I am collecting bubble wrap and fleece like a fully fledged horder :tongue2:

Be aware that if the bubble wrap is not UV stable it will disintegrate after a couple of years and makes a right mess. I recently cleared my sister's father-in-law's house and he had lined his greenhouse with it.

Thanks guys . Jb I bought some greenhouse anchors from t'internet. 1 in each corner, 1 in the middle of the sides and at each side of the doorframe. They're those screw in to the ground ones that go about 1metre deep.
