Yes if they're over wintering ones, aka Japanese onions

I've got all my garlic, shallots and elephant garlic in. The last half of the overwintering onions to go in in the next few days.

Most of the mail order companies have got autumn planting sets available now for planting and are also taking orders for spring planting ones.

The catalogues coming out now may just concentrate on the spring planting ones, but the autumn planting ones are there on the websites still.

Put mine in 3weeks ago, some are just starting to push through, said on packet to bury them. Better net them now to stop the birds pulling them out.

Yesterday I finished planting for winter: "Electric" red onions, "Shakespeare" brown onions, "Marco" garlic and "Musselburgh" leeks, so let's see what happens, eh!
I may be Welsh, but I love ewe anyway!

The birds are not usually a problem once they are rooted and shooted!
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?
