Raspberry canes and legal stuff!

Have been doing some research into the raspberry 'Autumn Treasure'. Sounds rather gorgeous but saw the following on the online nursery that I was looking at.

This plant is protected by the Plant Variety Rights. Illegal propagation without a licence will lead to prosecution.

So I can't take cuttings in the future either for myself or for others? Say what?   

I've heard this before with strawberry plants, but quite how to stop them from propagating themselves is beyond me

But like Yorkie has said it must not be done for commercial sale. 

Cripes! I had visions of a Propagation Swat Team descending on wires from helicopters the moment I appeared with secateurs.   

Darn it - I've been rumbled. And there was me thinking that...this time next year...Rodney.

I've often wondered what the scope of that was and have now looked it up
