If you want to be happy for a short time - get drunk.

If you want to be happy for a long time - fall in love.

If you want to be happy forever - take up gardening!

If your soil is at all diggable now, you can make a trench about a spit deep and wide for them. Loosen the lower area with a fork. To the trench add compost, some rotted manure, BFB if you have it and set the plants in place with roots spread out in the trench. Adjust plant height to about where the original planting line was. Spacing would be roughly 2 ft apart, even 3 ft if you've the space. Fill in and  firm in with your boot but not like concrete. I'm sure there's enough rain lately to keep them well watered. These will stay here a long time so do give the soil some goodness.

If you can't dig yet, plant them into single pots with some compost and keep lightly moist in a cool greenhouse/garage until you can plant them out.

Just read through the planting instructions I received last year (knew they would come in useful one day), the only additional thing they say is :

"Before or immediately after planting, prune existing canes prune exisiting canes to 22cm (9") from the ground. When new shoots have developed from the base of the plant and they are about 20cm (8") tall, cut down what remains of the old canes to ground level"

Paul, Andrew, Kevin, Galen - My parents got bored of normal names in the end!

I did exactly as has been suggested by the Other posters last year and my Raspberries are romping away! Great advice (as always) - Enjoy the fruits of your harvest. ;)
