Is there anything against growing on more than one runner plantlet if there are more than one in series?

I tend to plant on and sow a seed at each cane, if that helps.....

think u meat 2 plants per cane.....well i allways sow 1 each side of the cane so yes i have 2 plants up each cane

I think it's fine to use the second plantlet on a strawberry runner as long as it looks strong. When I've been a bit short I've used 3rd and 4th plantlets, they just take a little longer to establish.

I'm in the same camp as Nobbie, think it's ref to strawberries. You could do as he says,but depends on the age & size of the original plant as it will weaken it. But if it's in its 3/4 th year & you are going to oust it anyway it won't matter.
