Just wanted to ask now my gooseberrys are in full swing should i nip the tops off as its shooting off every where.

No, just leave them to grow until after you've picked the fruit. I then give them a good trim by reducing most new growth by 2/3rds.

If you have lots of fruit forming you can pick some about the end of this month to thin them out and leave the rest to grow bigger. This early picking is used for making tasty tarts. They are very tarte.
