Hello all,

Today is day 21 of the incubation period. I have made sure the humidity is high an the incubator is off the rocker! And all the dividers are out! There are a few with cracks "pips" appearing and some tweeting! However this seems to have stopped an nothing has happened in like an hour? Should I be worried? Or it's the just a waiting game? Help put my mind at ease please hahaha 👍🏼

It's a tiring process getting yourself out of an egg! lol  Give them time, sometimes it can take them hours to get out, just hope they don't get too tired before they are completely out of the shell!

Its a very exciting, but worrying time for us.  I can remember sitting in front of our incubator at 1.30 in the morning watching the cracks get a little bigger!   :D

Glad to hear it is all looking promising. I find that chicks will take anywhere between 30mins and 8 hrs to hatch from the first chip to out ,so don't panic  ;) . Also don't open the incubator frequently as this can chill and stress them. Please keep us updated  :)

I think the noise the hatchlings make do encourage the others telling them that this world isn't as scary as they thought and that its safe to come out! LOL

Fingers crossed for a good hatching for you!    :) :)

I'm sure they will be out soon, can't wait to see some pics. Mine always seem to hatch during the night.  ::)

Yeah, they are waiting for you to go to bed so they can sneak out while you're not looking!  ;)

Hooray.....

I have at least 8 chicks in the incy now! All climbing over one another! It looks crowded! My question is now how do I know which to take out as one has been in there over 24 hr but not sure which one it is now (my mistake) they all look pretty fluffy now! Advice anyone??

Ps it won't let me upload pics.

I would take them all out and put them in a brooder with chick crumb and a small water drinker (try to minimise heat loss from incubator by being quick and not completely removing lid etc.). Are there many eggs left?

So here we are......second attempt at incubating eggs, first attempt nothing 😞 however this attempt started off not great two eggs exploded, and smelt horrid 😷. But then on day 21 we had a pip! ☺️☺️☺️ And then they started arriving, 1,2,3 and 4 and so on! Overall out of the 24 eggs we have had 12 chicks, which is Kool! There is two eggs still in the incy but nothing is happening they had something inside them when we first candled but nothing?
My question is now they are mainly under the brooder, coming out for food and water and then back under, I'm guessing since they have been only around for 24 hours this is expected?
It won't let me upload photos so will keep trying!
