Ok this may sound a daft question - growing wheat

Not wheat, but if interested in growing a grain why not try quinoa?  The flowers are very pretty too - Real Seeds sell a range of different seeds.  The downside is the cleaning afterwards to get the saponins out but isn't too difficult - you just need a couple of clean buckets and lots of water to rinse the grain and then spread out thinly on trays and dry thoroughly before storing.
