I got two chickens at 16 weeks ...one is a Sussex the other an Exchequer Leghorn ...they were fed on growers pellets then layers pellets when they reached about 22 weeks ( I had some advice about this)...They have both moulted ...but no eggs yet ....any advice would be appreciated...should I have kept them on growers pellets ? I have read conflicting advice on this ...Thanks Arty

Swapping the pellets at 22 weeks is fine.

They will lay when they are ready and it is a waiting game i'm afraid.

I had some that were 36 weeks before they started to lay. We hatched them here so we knew exactly how old they were.

You may be lucky but there is a good chance now they won't lay until the new year. Do not view this as negative, they are born with only so many eggs to lay so will lay for longer. I know how difficult it is waiting for those first eggs! But it will be worth the wait

Just keep an eye on their combs , when they go from pink to red you can get the omlette pan ready !
