If not too bad, I tip some salt in it and scrub with plastic scourer, or if bad, boil up some washing powder in little water. Softens it a bit. X

When i slightly
overcooked some broad beans in a stainless pan it took several boils of vinegar to get rid of the stains .

What's wrong with a brillo pad? Works for me. Or if it isn't too bad then an eraser sponge.

My sister had a neighbour who only grew rhubarb to cook in a pot when he had burned something.

I use household bleach, heating it up.
Adding more, as it works [you can see the black "dissolving"]
It smells a bit of chlorine, but it gets rid of really badly burnt on food residues.

I really badly burnt a pan last year and put soap powder with a little warm water in it. It did take a couple of days and a couple of replacement lots of powder / water, but just leaving it to soak like that did the job. All the burnt on stuff came off without any scrubbing.

Whatever you do, don't mix them, you could end up with a molatove cocktail!
