Is it too late for Runner Beans
« on: July 08, 2014, 08:51 »
My runner beans are doing absolutely nothing year, first time ever.  Would it be too late to start some more?  If so would it be best to direct sow or start in pots.

Thanks

It may be too late but - nothing ventured, nothing gained. Try both sowing direct and in pots, plus look out for any for sale just in case it doesn't work as they will have a heads-up on ones you sow now. We can get some lovely warm weather later on in the year though daylight levels will decrease.
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.

Thanks i will just sow and see, as you say may get a prolonged summer.  Not to bothered even if the pods are thin and small.  we  just love runners.
