I'm rather envious of all you chook fanciers, I don't really have the room for a hen run, even a small one. I'm thinking of applying for another plot  just so I can have a go! :D

You don't need to shout, Aunty! I've been thinking about this, and there's an abandoned plot where a very nice lady grew a willow crop, which is now so overgrown with them that no-one wants it. It's saving grace is that it contains a 5 star hen house, so I'm going to offer to take it on at a reduced rate. The committee may even let me have it rent-free for a year if I promise to clear it, worth a try methinks.

Watch this space!

That's how it should be and, I hope, the minimum most home chickens have.

And that's if they are allowed to free-range out of their run too at times  :!:

My motto on this subject is that it's easy to give an animal too little space but it's hard to give them too much :D

Well after enlarging the run more than twice the size with the orange barrier fencing, the pullets have eaten all that grass and trying to turn it to mud, so they are now running around bathing in the polytunnel which is nother 504 sq foot of nice DRY space!!
