Help,

My main crop Potatoes which only went in the last week in March are full of lush green growth and are now starting to flower - surely this is far too early.  I have spent half the afternoon going around picking off the flower buds to try to put more growth back down into the tubers under the ground. 

Is there anything else I can do to help get better potatoes?

Give them a good soak now they are in flower, and a bit of a feed with something like chicken manure pellets, as they are now making tubers down there in the dark

Don't worry, the flowers will not detract from the crop size.

Just let nature take its course and let them get on with it. They know best.

It's great when the potatoes flower - interesting to see the different plant heights and flower colours.

Sit back and dream of new potatoes freshly cooked with a knob of butter.

Mine flowered some time ago and now have crab apple type thing on them - The earlirs are turning up their toes, I planted them on the 16th March and they were well chitted.
