low egg count

Can this weeks hot weather effect the girls laying thier eggs as mine where laying four a day but since its been hot they seem to have slowed down.They have plenty of water to drink

I thought that might have been the case here, with temps well into the thirties, but everyone else is complaining about too many eggs. I am putting my shortage down to the fact that we had red mite problems  which are now under control.

yes the hot weather can have that effect (as can red-mite).
Staffies are softer than you think.

Not got red mite (fingers crossed) and the girls are back to normal and laying three or four a day  :nowink: thanks for advice xx

Mine have always been three eggs out of three hens ever since they started laying (got them as POL, about a year ago) only slowing down to two a day over the depths of winter. However over the last couple of weeks we have dropped down to about two a day so i suspect that we too are seeing a slowing down due to heat.
Either that or they are getting fat ;-)
