Yup.   Never used so many pellets (glad I bought them on offer)..

I did think it was going to be the Year of The Snail and Slug this year so I bought in more of their favourite little blue cakes just to make them feel welcome.

Strange, as I have found the slug and snail attack to be very mild this year.
Not really found many in the yeast traps or under stones.
The crops have been pretty much untouched, compared to the last few years.
One new thing I have done this year, apart from spreading more of my homemade nematode potion over my potatoes, is I have planted Kale near my beans and around my other brassicas.
Read recently that kale gets ignored, but it looks as though they are ignoring everything around it too.
A happy bunny so far this year.

You can get blue slug pellets and organic ones for a pound at pound world.  I used the whole thing.  Plants are being eaten at alarming rate even potatoe foliage.

We went to the allotments yesterday and my 7 year old daughter is devastated - her courgette plants are now just stalks in the ground :(
Would you say blue pellets are the best way to deal with the problem? Or are there any other sneaky tricks you guys have?

A mixture of using blue pellets and burying jam jars full of cheap beer (cut price bitter does the trick) seems to work for me.

Just adding that it's apparently the yeast in beer that they like. Last year we baited our slug traps with a little yeast and sugar dissolved in water and they flocked to get in.

I hate to see beer go to waste .... and you can make up small amounts of yeast mix very easily.

I lost all my leeks and onions, and anything direct sown.  Definitely slugs.
