hot bed and a couch

I have that old battered couch, and some double glased doors in the garden , the neighbours don t like it apparently ... a bit too pikey.

so I have an idea involving pallets,a crowbar, few nails and few bottles of scrumpy. why not turning the old couch into a hot bed????
anybody ever worked on such a silly idea, or am I just weird?

I am computer retarded , looks like I ll have to post picture as I go on with the thing.
Looks like a nice and simple idea( in my head) let see how the thing turns up as I get started with it.

but the idea would be to strip the couch of all the cover and filler just to end up with the wood frame, and work from that.

And how and/or when does this turn into a hot bed?  It looks very cold to me...

Still glowing, still growing, still going strong!

only if you are using a lazyboy couch to start with, I doubt the electric would go well with my approach to diy

Ah, but if you could get hold of one of those chairs with an ejector button - like they have for old folks (worryingly not much older than me!) then harvesting would be fun!
You wouldn't have to dig, but you might have to cover it with a net to catch your crop !!  Or recruit a load of friends/allotmenteers with butterfly nets to catch your crop. That is, if you plant to plant a catch crop. Can't type here for giggling, must be the Baileys!
Seriously though, hats off for being enterprising - I'm only jealous that my OH won't give up our bed for me to grow parsnips in!

I don t mind making things with whatever I have handy, I used to have a 4 post bed made out of scaffolding, with curtains aound it. If the idea is silly enough and worth having a go at it, then why not.

think about harvesting potatoes/beetroot/celeriac that way hard hat and face protection highly recommended.
