PSB
« on: March 23, 2014, 17:25 »
The S is missing from my PSB.   It is an early variety, so should be producing now, or showing signs of it.  Lots of healthy growth, but no sprouts as yet.  I wonder if the mild winter has had anything to do with it.  How is everyone else's doing?   I have grown from the same packet last year, and I am sure I got sprouts by now.

Mine's all gone now.  :( It hadn't quite finished, but I needed the space for the broadies. It was so tasty - can't wait till the summer one kicks in.

Picked a carrier bag full of PSB and WSB this morning.  Have been cropping for about a month now.  One plant (they are all the same variety of PSB) has just started producing, so I think you will see some soon.

Mine is not ready yet but there are some purple sprouts on there - this is the first time I have grown it and it is looking very healthy but apparently not ready yet.  I asked someone on our plot today whether it was ready to harvest and she said not quite yet.  She also said I should havest the top middle sprout first and then the side ones later and that it should produce through to late May/June.  So fingers crossed.  I hope yours comes soon - does it look like it has some flower heads?

My 12 plants started producing in very early feb and doesn't look like it's going to slow down any time soon. As someone said take out the central head when it's a decent size and it will encourage the plant to create side shoots. Also make sure to pick regularly or it will run to seed and then your done.

Very small indications of a central flowering head only...  All the 4 plants look very healthy and strong.  Hoping for supplies soon.

If your summer one is anything like mine you will still be picking it this time next year.

In all honesty it was supposed to be summer PSB. But it was a bit tardy. Had been eating it since December though.  :)

Mine grew to about a metre high. Some of them flopped over but most managed to stay upright.
