Up just after six to let the hens and ducks out. BBC are promising us a drier day today - would be lovely.  :D  I am taking them at their word and have curtains in the wash - so Carol had better be right!!

Been to the market, the veg market is looking stunning with mountains of mediterranean fruit and veg, all different colours, sizes and shapes. Honey, carp, spices, plants. Melons by the hundreds. Has to be seen to be believed in such a small town.

Then on to the animal market, horrendous with rabbits, chickens and guineafowl crammed into small cages in full sun (nearly 30 degrees already) transits being unloaded, with goats, calves, sheep and horses all crammed in, more horses arriving tied to the back of carts. But no sign of my friend's stolen horses. I just don't know what to say to her any more poor thing. :(

I was devastated having to leave mine behind when we came out here, and I know where he is and who he is with. I think what is really getting to her is not knowing. The cruelty is awful here and one of them came from an abusive person. It took her four years to get her to accept that she was going to be treated kindly, but she was never easy. So sad, she sounds so defeated and who can blame her.

Morning all - lovely blue sky this morning so looks like we will have a good day. Quite cold when I was sorting the Hans and ducks at six this morning. Need a yawn smiley thing for this time of day.  ;)
