I keep my eggs out of the fridge.  They are just for my consumption!

To be contovertial EHOs do not always know what they are talking about and do not necessarily have a good understanding of food safety or even legislation at times!!!

I keep my eggs out of the fridge.

I was taught that the condensation in the fridge will ruin the coating that the chicken puts on the egg when it's laid. (that's where the egg is slightly wet when it first comes out)
that membrane is there (for when it's fertilised) to keep the egg from any nasties while its waiting to be hatched. It's protective.
damp and condensation can rub it off.

If it's like that in nature, then it will also be protective against germies in the kitchen

I only put cooked eggs in the fridge (because I've boiled off the protective membrane)

It's like cling film for eggs.

When we took over our allotment last year, we planted a crop of tomatoes in the duck enclosure that was left to us.  We found so many buried duck eggs - lethal, atomic things!
When I die I will slide in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand and chocolate in the other, screaming, "Whooo hooo!  What a ride!" as life is to be enjoyed to the fullest!

 Saw a UXB Canada goose egg that had been washed down to the lake sluice by floodwater yesterday , if the man that clears the sluice grid was heavy handed with his rake he will know all about it ! :) :)
