[quail chick]

I have hens/bantams laying like mad and even my white silkie decided to start hatching, but I didn't put anthing under her.  Are the poultry confused with the weather like ourselves or has anyone else had the same thing happening?

I have a Plymouth Rock who hadn't layed for a couple of months and then started again last weekend (about 3 eggs since Sunday) which was a nice surprise particularly as the days are so short at the moment.

quail chick, a lot depends on the age of your birds and their breeds. Silkies are notorious for going broody at the drop of an egg or two.

Yes, no eggs for months and now started laying again.
