rosemary and fuschia cuttings
« on: December 08, 2013, 20:25 »
I was tiding the shed today (moving one mess to create another mess) and I found some rosemary and fuchsia cuttings that have rooted in sharp sand. I tested 1 of each and they have a good root system. What should I do with them now, leave them, feed them or pot them on. I think they are about 2 months old.

Thanks

Are the fuchsia cuttings of hardy or tender plant's? If tender they will need to be brought in somewhere frost free. If they are hardy a cold frame should be ok.

Hi FC,
Sorry I don't know which type they are as the label has disappeared, I had planned to bring them indoors anyway just need to find a spot where OH won't look  ;)
I just need to know if they need potting on just now or not.

Pop them into 3in pot's with a compost/sharp sand mix. Do not overwater them though. Start watering around the end of march if it is warm.

And don't worry if the fuchsias lose their leaves .. quite normal over winter.
