bulbs shooting too soon
« on: October 13, 2013, 15:59 »
So I had this brainwave, to plant bulbs of alliums and grape hyacinths into modules, so that by the time they came up (in the spring!) I would be able to see where the gaps were and just pop them in. But they are coming up already! I'm not sure what to do now.

Are they outside? If not get them out quickly, they need to be in a sheltered dark place.

They should be coming up now!

The leaves on my muscari are about three inches tall already :D

You could bury them in the ground in their modules, and then move them in flower very easily, come the Spring

Thanks, yes they are outside, it didn't occur to me they would come up so quickly - I only planted them a couple of weeks ago! I didn't expect to see anything until next year.
