So, it looks like I need to keep searching to see what they are.

The "good" thing is that your comment means that I don't have to grow them again to see if it was just one seed in the batch.

They weren't all that special to eat although the've produced quite a lot of fruit. I'll have to buy some brown berry from somewhere else because the proper ones are my OH favourite.

I think I've found them.

They look very similar to Black Plum and the description seems to match.
