Hi,  I have just read that Honey can be used as a rooting compound and claimed to be as good as the commercial products.  As anybody on here tried this?  and how successful was it.

I have never tried it but would assume that it is the honey's antiseptic properties that protect the root cuttings and so promote growth. Probably not legal under EU rules but I am sure someone on here will be able to clarify that.

I can honestly see the EU debating this then banning honey for everything.
It is the sort of thing they would pick up on.

Thats interesting.  Will give it a try. Not of course as an illegal rooting formulation.  It is possible that I might just accidentally spill some on the cuttings that lying around in my kitchen.

I have Googled it and apparently it does work!! as an organic alternative to commercial rooting compound.  Better have a go before 'big brother' EU get involved.
