They're growing so fast and so large that they are splitting their skins. I'm having to do the unthinkable and lift them for drying whilst they are still growing strongly. Both the Sturon and Stuttgard are afflicted. Is my soil too rich from all the muck I use?

If your weather is anything like mine - it'll be the recent heavy rain after a long dry spell swelling them very quickly - tomatoes and potatoes will do the same thing

My onions stood through all the really hot weather with no problems whatsoever then as soon as the heavy rain came half the crop promptly bolted

Mine seem ok so far, starting to fall over (Setton and Turbo). They're on the boggy end of my clay soil and the soil was moist underneath during the hot spell. Hadn't manured that bed this season
