Do slugs eat beetroot?
« on: August 07, 2013, 13:26 »
Pulled some beetroot today and had to throw away over half as they had huge gouges out of them that looked slug/caterpillar type damage. Some of them were still wet and juicy! Annoyingly I am out of organic slug pellets so I will have to pick some up tomorrow if this is the case.

I think slugs eat pretty much anything m'dear.

I pulled a couple of smallish not very healthy looking courgettes off my 'courgettes for flowers only' plants at home and left them on the wall in the backgarden and the slugs and snails have had a field day!
Quite a good distraction method though... :D
