what to do with pea pods
« on: July 12, 2013, 10:03 »
Hi everyone

I have picked the first of some lovely peas, so sweet. The pods are very sweet too. Does anyone have any suggestions for using the pods? Seems like a lot of waste to throw them away.

Thanks
Wendy

I boil them up and make them into wine, it's a surprisingly tasty little number too  :D
I'll have a look for my recipe later when I get home if your'e interested.

Thanks but I don't drink alcohol! I am sure it is really nice though. My mum used to make wine from carrots. I was hoping someone might have tried soup oe something similar.

That's a good idea I didn't think of using them in a stir fry. Shall try that with the next batch. I currently have pea soup on the go!
