apart from the 'real' prezzie's off my lovely other half and family, got one of the best ones i could have hoped for ! its really made my crimbo n just goes to show, as i like to say, i am easily pleased lol  

Christmas day evening, a couple of hours after arriving at the OH's, i decided to nip out and give the ducks a treat, so armed with some tasty morsels of chopped assorted trout bits and mealworms, i laid some out across the edge of the pond, scattered a few on the ground and they all came running!

i backed off and gave them a bit of space, one of the gilrls went up the ramp, followed by the other girl, and both jumped into the pond and started thrashing about, swimming and bathing and eating treats off the side ! its the first time they've voluntarily gone in lol !

boxing day i thought i'd have a go at repeating it so i took them out some trout roe i'd saved and scattered that around the lip of the pond, within 5 minutes all 3 were in bobbing about and diving and having a right old time lol  

i was so made up i was screaming outside for everyone to come and look lol, so hopefully now they've got the idea i might actually get them in there in the daytime so i can get a picture to post up as well lol  :shock:

happy, they looked ecstatic lol ! wouldn't mind but they've been eyeing the water up for two weeks nearly, going up the ramps, eating the food off the sides and i've been out there willing them to just jump in lol

hope now they've 'discovered' that its theres they'll be in it all the time

Yippee at last, how lovely. However, I do hope your ducks arent like mine, as they  WILL NOT swim in dirty water, I ask you   Honestly, if I leave the water for more than 2 days they wont go in it :oops: I mean what sort of ducks have I got, they're not all male either

yours must be posh FC, these three seem to thrive on mud lol . . . . .

every time i drain the belfast sink it goes round the outside of the run, round the side they go to paddle in it,every puddle needs a thorough  inspection, several times and the sound of running or splashing water gets there attention every time like a snake charmers flute lol  :shock:

shouldn't be a problem convincing them to go mud surfing lol  and getting them into the ponds getting easier now

finally, finally managed to catch the ducks while they were having a paddle in the pond, while i was there, and with my phone in my pocket  

its a bit grainy cos its off a mobile but its one of the girls (still not got names yet although 'puddles' is coming on as a firm favourite ) and the drake (who i seem to have got away with calling 'steve' lol )
and i also made the mistake of turning the phone side-on half way through, so the clip turns 'cock eyed' lol  :shock:

must keep my digi camera handy in future  . . . .    :roll: they do have fun though once they're in there lol  . . . . . . . . . .
