Japanese knot weed????

Hi,

Please can you ID the below, found it in my garden this weekend. If I have uploaded it  :unsure:

Oh thank you, I just had a horrible thought and looked at some images, i did see some images and they had simolar leaves, yes lilac looks more like it, glad you all know your stuff  :)

THIS is Japanese Knotweed.  Luckily we didn't have a  lot of it, but it took several years to finally eradicate it from next to our old path!

Interestingly, well to me anyway..., it is not a notifiable weed where I thought it was.

It is not illegal to have it on your land, however it is an offence to plant it or to allow it to spread off your property. It is to be treated as controlled waste when being removed, which means the operator has to have a licence to carry that type of waste.

Glad it isn't what's growing in your garden casper. :)
