Tuna salad receipe
« on: December 15, 2007, 19:20 »
Just thought I'd share this receipe with you all. I first tried it about 25 years or so ago and has been a favourite of mine ever since, just had it for tea and made me think others may like it too. So here goes My Aunty Glen's recipe from the US :

"3  (4 if small)  hard boiled eggs, chopped fine.   A 6 oz tin of tuna, drained.   A little  finely chopped onion.  A sprinkle or so of celery seeds (don't worry if you don't have any, it will still taste good).  Mayonnaise.  Black pepper and a teeny amount of salt to taste.   Mix altogether until spreading consistency.  Adjust mayonnaise accordingly.   Refrigerate for a short while, unless you are really hungry, and in that case eat it right away.  This is nice used in a sandwich or on a salad plate with lettuce, tomatoes, etc.    Enjoy!!"

We use celery salt instead of the seeds.

Yum, yum, I can taste them. 8)

I agree tuna makes a lovely salad, also nice with fresh tomatoes in the summer and cooked beans when nothing else is about.
