It's an ill wind..

I haven't seen any flea beetle damage so far this year, and the psb and kale are clear of whitefly. I put it down to the relatively severe winter. Our slugs don't seem so active either..

Broad beans have been nibbled round the edges, as usual, already.  :(
The plants are only 1" high.
Sometimes my plants grow despite, not because of, what I do to them.

the cold winter may have had some effect but most likely the bugs are still waking up - up until a fortnight ago it was still very cold.  A lot of vegetation are only just putting growth on so little point for any insect to become active until there was food available.  As for whitefly, they may be around but just not in infestation numbers.  As for slugs and snails - we (in the midlands and perhaps south and east) have had no rain since the weekend of the snow in late March so the ground is parched dry but they are hiding under rocks and every crook and cranny until the rains comes.

I've seen quite a few dead bumblebees. It seems they're waking up during the day and then dying in the night when the temperature drops. Around here it's been quite nice during the day but nights still have a cold edge to them.
