Direct Sowing Broad Beans & Parsnips

Hi Guys, its actually mild here in Cheshire with night time temps of 9c WOW.

I saved my BB seeds from last year so I have no instructions to go off, are the temps we are now all getting okay to direct sow Broad Beans & also my Parsnips.

I started my parsnips in wet paper a couple of weeks ago and potted them up into paper cups this week.  When they are showing quite well I will put them out in the plot.  I find that this way I know that the seed is viable and sprouting and I do not have to thin out seedlings as I space the plants where I want them.  You just have to be careful that you plant them out before the root hits the bottom of the pot as it will fork otherwise.

Last year my parsnips were so big I could not harvest them without snapping of the root end.
