Is the Green Mustard green manure seed the same as the Mustard you can buy to sprout on damp kitchen towel for Mustard and Cress?

It's just that the sprouting packets are way more expensive than the green manure seed.

Indoor Hydroponics may be the only way ahead if this weather continues!

I think the crops used to get the green manure seeds might not be suitable for eating the plants. I looked into getting some to strangle the couch grass and a couple of the sites said not suitable for human consumption. I suppose the best thing to do is email the seed company and ask

Iv'e never managed to get mustard green manure beyond the flowering stage before it dies back. Never harvested seeds.  Maybe its me.   I really doubt mustard would strangle couch. 

As for asking the seed companies if it is edible - They will be obliged to give you the answer approved by their lawyers.  They will probably also have to tell you that the  packet may contain nuts.

I wonder if they mean that the seeds in the packet are not fit for eating?  Perhaps it is whatever nasty chemical they douse the seeds in to prevent rotting, or birds eating the seeds?
