I was planning to pot on some of my windowsill seedlings today but the compost I was going to use has been outside. Is it an idea to bring some indoors to warm up first? Could I freeze the roots if I use really cold compost or should it be ok as they will be inside still anyway?

I would personally allow the soil to warm up to the same temperature as the soil they are already in.
