I've been given a packet of these.  Are they the things that some people call 'Everlasting sweet peas' ?  The sort that once you plant you can't get rid of?.  If they are then I won't plant them!  Many thanks for your guidance, Maggie

no they're not perennial. They're a very old variety with a strong scent and purple/red flowers

You'll need to start them very soon if you hope for a good flowering this year. Be sure to keep the flowers picked off regularly so they don't go to seed and the whole plant stops flowering.

They have smaller blooms than your usual sweet pea, but a great scent.
I got some in my multipack of sweetpea seeds.
