My Music is now coming up but oh dear so are the bluebells. I can't tell the difference at the moment but when they get a bit bigger I should be able to tell. Good thing I planted the garlic in rigidly spaced rows!
I obviously didn't get out all those dang bluebell bulbs when I put in the raised bed!!! ::)

I planted Elephant garlic at the end of october and the Avignon Wight a few weeks later. All of the Avignon are up but none of the elephant. I know this is normal though. I would be more worried if one or two had showed and then nothing else for a while, but usually you will find that when one comes up they will all be up soon afterwards.

I planted various types in Oct and some are up and some have roots out the bottom of the pot... so all still well I assume..

Depends on variety as well, my Sprint is 3 or 4 inches up at the mo, Purple Wight planted at the same time are barely an inch up while my Messidrome and Solent Wight planted only a week later on 27th Oct are yet to make an appearance at all.

Yes, same here. The garlic seeds I bought from Range (allium sativum) have sprouted about 6" but my elephant garlic courtesy of my neighbour hasn't made any appearance. I planted mine in the first week of October. I thought its more to do with the rather poor weather that we had the last couple of weeks.

I moved mine yesterday from the Gh to a my cold frame and on the way tripped and tipped one of the trays... 2 pots semi spilled all the soil out.... found 2 huge nests of roots from the elephant cloves and a tiny shoot starting... So they are defo alright!! I was beginning to worry a bit tho. My other types are mostly through and will be planted out asap with the next warm few days we have.
