I've ordered mine already because I think they'll sell out early because blight was so bad this year

I seem to remember having my seed spuds by the end of December last year ;)

I've already ordered a colection from Kings, and that has already been makred as out of stock on their website. Not suprised though. Four lots of 2.5kg and 10 Purple Majesty, for £10.

I just tried to order some after reading this thread but my usual supplier (Lauras Organics) is out of stock.  Could anyone suggest another organic seed potato website?

Ignore me, spotted DDs link to http://chat.allotment-garden.org/index.php?topic=35584.0 on another thread

Cheers Arugula!  I spotted you recommending them on another thread too and since then I have filled my basket with lots of seed tatties.  £2.50 postage for several kilos of potatoes isn't bad imo!  They say they'll deliver from December, will the seed potatoes keep until its warm enough to plant them?  After this years late frost I think sheets of plastic pre planting and lots of fleece after will be used

Yes, keep them cool and dark until its time to start chitting - you'll get plenty warning on here when that time comes. :D Where I'd normally aim for March, our potatoes didn't get planted until April this year and all still worked out fine. :)

I would not wait, start chitting them as soon as they arrive in December.

You need to bear in mind that planting dates will be later in Scotland than they are down South

First 2 weeks in April is common round here for planting - even then we run the risk of a hard late frosts, as happened this year. We try to get our potatoes delivered 2nd week in February - makes sense for the company to look after them.

I have ordered mine already too, from JBA Seed Potatoes.  Ulster Classic and British Queens.  This is my third year ordering from them, always been pleased with choice and service.

I agree they might run out sooner than usual due to blight.

I ordered mine from T&M as by combining with friends we have avoided p7p charges

They still seem to have a good selection, some at very low prices

NO Ambo though so have ordered Lady Balfour instead

I usually wait until about Christmas time before putting an order in but there seems to be so many rumours going round, I decided to do it yesterday ( panic buying is not something I normally do)

Our hut manager has already put the order in because of fears about low stock levels.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...
