How many eggs to put under broody?
« on: July 09, 2012, 13:17 »
I think I may have a broody - I do hope I'm right. It will be my first after 8 years of henkeeping. What I want to know is she is a Hamburg - I think classed as small fowl and she is small. Would 5 duck eggs be too many?

My tiny bantam had no problem on sitting on 6 bantam eggs.  I think she could have managed 10.  It would depend on what size duck eggs as some are really large.
