Is it safe to eat leeks that have gone to seed?
They are last years leeks and just want to check before I make soup with them that they will be ok to use.

They should be absolutely fine in soup  :D
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

Yes, if you get a tough stalk it doesn't matter as it's still good for the gravy or stock and you can hoik it out before dishing up  :)

Thanks for your answers. Just to make sure when I have come to prepare them for the soup the centre is solid. Are they still ok?

yes.........either remove the solid inside before cooking or whizz the soup up afterwards  :)

The core can be tough so you can omit it as it's done its work in flavouring the dish, or risk it and whizz it up. It depends who its for. If it's for posh dinner guests I'd take it out  :D
