Planted some potatoes and onions last night. My first plantings on the lottie since i got it. First time gardener here so dont know what to expect. Should i have covered them up to protect them from frost. Thinking about putting in beetroots next

I'm new to it as well, if your in a drought, cover the spuds with manure if you can, it will keep the moisture below so you dont have to water them so much, beetroot the same i think, but if the manure is green make sure its not touching the leaves (its acid from the urine

Onions are ok with frost and so are the potatoes until they grow above ground.

Then if frost is forecast they need earthing up (drawing earth over the tops) to protect from frost.
