Go to a farm supplies depot - I use Cropwise and I believe they have nationwide branches - and they will sell you a 25kg bag of "Growmore" equivalent at about £16 at 2011 prices. Trick is to know what you want and to act like a small-holder. Go there as if you're shopping at B & Q or Homebase and you'll either pay too much or be told that they only deal with "trade accounts"

I get quite a lot from the pound shop... £1 for a 1kg box... that is good value compared to our local B&Q or nurseries. Plus BFB and other liquid foods etc are available.
Now a member of the 10 Ton club.... 2013  harvested 588 Kg from 165 sq mt..

For the petrol/diesel money to Doncaster wildseed my local nursery which supplies a lot of the allotment shops/associations around here ...

Where's that then? It seems a little meaningless if we have no idea where you are. :)

 ;)

Wildseed did you get sorted ?. If not our site also in the Wakefield area deals with a supplier
in Doncaster called Pleaveys, 25Kg of growmore £12.95 +vat if you need the address PM me.
You could give Sugar Lane Allotments off Doncaster Road Wakefield a try they have or did have an association shop you can use for a small fee if you don't have plot on site.
