I normally expect to loose some 30% of onions and shallots to white rot. Last year, there was no white rot  on my onions or shallots grown in ground that I had treated with the garlic solution the previous year. A fantastic result! I did have some losses on the garlic that I grew, but not as much.

Sounds very promising i have not suffered white rot myself, but its a method to keep in mind  :)
Give me a sense of humor, Lord,
Give me the grace to see a joke,
To get some humour out of life,
And pass it on to other folk.
Happy new year to you all xx
