You have to slow down and enjoy it. I still get excited on a Saturday when I get down there and I haven't been there for a week. Mind you I haven't been there for about 6 weeks now so as soon as we break up from work it will be digging city.
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.

Thanks again to you all for the response I really appreciate it,I think my panic attacks have stopped now  :tongue2: and I've taken a step back and tried to break it down into bite size pieces of Elephant.
I've had a look at the Growveg.com website and I think it will be ideal to help make sense of it all for a dummy like me who knows precisely nothing about gardening.(Alongside a lot of help from you guys)
By the way Pennine, what is green manure?
I don't know how I've got to this age(53) and retained this degree of ignorance re:- gardening

Can't wait for Saturday!

I've just remembered,my plot is South facing and gets the sun ALL day.It really is a sun trap
is this good or bad?

South facing is good. You can tell from your photo the site really gets the sun. There is a big shadow from a fence or something though - is that a permanent thing? Shame if it is, although I guess it may also be providing some wind protection?

It's a 6 ft solid fence but the garden is approx 100ft long from the fence so there is plenty of it not in the shade.
That is a the only bit of shade there is,I assumed there must be some plants that do not like direct sunlight.

Yeah - rocket springs to mind, there was a very good thread on here a while ago about rocket and the general consensus was that shade was what it needed to thrive (if I remember correctly)

Green manure - basicly (sp?) a 'crop' you sow to cut and/or dig in when it's grown. brings minerals and nutrients up then feeds the soil (bacteria) when dug in. If you googl' 'green manure' it comes up with quite a lot of info and varieties of seed (more to baffle and bewilder  :D.

G.Y.O. MAGAZINE !!!! That's one of the causes of my meltdown Arch, I've now buried my copies in a locked case at the bottom of the garden
Just kidding  I think I'm slowly getting a plan together now and I'm really looking forward to the new year
I'm now the proud owner of some Spring onion and chilllie seeds(Courtesy of G.Y.O.),the first I've ever had :D
